Making friends in Girona

One of the great assets of the Girona province is that, on the very same day,  you can swim the Mediterranean’s blue waves in the morning and climb the magnificent Pyrenees Mountains in the afternoon (or viceversa).

morning at the Costa Brava

Morning at Pals beach

Travelling by car from sea level to 2.000 meters high takes no more than one or two hours, but you can stop somewhere between, in a green valley or in a medieval village, for example,  just to have an unforgettable lunch and make new friends.

That happened to me recently in one of those “somewhere between”. It was in La Garrotxa.

I ate “volcanic cuisine” in a familiar restaurant at the nice Hostalets d’en Bas village.

Meat-filled-onions

Volcanic onions filled with meat or "cebes farcides"

I met a new friend near Joanetes. He was very shy, but I talked to him …

Making new friends

Hello! How are you?

We had an interesting conversation about politics, weather and the financial crisis …

You're right

Then I had to say good bye …

See you!

And, finally, I climbed my mountain …

Afternoon

Another great day in this little paradise named Girona.
